About the Journal

Indonesia Overview Journal (Indon. Overview J.) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes multidisciplinary research on Indonesia with a strong foundation in social and cultural perspectives. The journal welcomes empirical and theoretical studies that deepen the understanding of Indonesian societies, cultures, environments, and development challenges.

The journal prioritizes socially oriented, community-centered, and culturally grounded scholarship. Areas of interest include social and cultural change, public health and community well-being, environmental and human–nature relations, governance and development, education and learning, digital transformation, and interdisciplinary issues relevant to Indonesia’s contemporary dynamics.

Our mission is to advance integrative, evidence-based research that strengthens scientific knowledge, supports sustainable development, and contributes to societal well-being at local and national levels. The journal serves researchers, academics, practitioners, policymakers, and community-based scholars who engage with Indonesia-focused studies.
