Daftar Tilik Penyerahan Naskah

Penulis yang ingin memasukkan naskah harus memperhatikan poin-poin di bawah ini. Jika naskah tidak sesuai dengan persyaratan yang telah dicantumkan, ada kemungkinan naskah tersebut akan dikembalikan.
  • Naskah belum pernah diterbitkan sebelumnya, dan tidak sedang dalam pertimbangan untuk diterbitkan di jurnal lain (atau sudah dijelaskan dalam Komentar kepada Editor).
  • File naskah dalam format dokumen OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, atau RTF.
  • Referensi yang dapat diakses online telah dituliskan URL-nya.
  • Naskah diketik dengan teks 1 spasi; font 12; menggunakan huruf miring, bukan huruf bergaris bawah (kecuali alamat URL); dan semua ilustrasi, gambar, dan tabel diletakkan dalam teks pada tempat yang diharapkan, bukan dikelompokkan tersendiri di akhir naskah.
  • Naskah mengikuti aturan gaya selingkung dan bibliografi yang disyaratkan dalam Panduan Penulis.

Focus and Scope

Indonesia Overview Journal (Indon. Overview J.) is a peer-reviewed, open-access multidisciplinary journal grounded in social and cultural perspectives. The journal focuses on high-quality scholarly research that deepens the understanding of Indonesia’s people, communities, cultures, environments, and development dynamics.

Although multidisciplinary, the journal emphasizes socially informed, community-oriented, and culturally grounded approaches that examine the complex relationships between humans, society, environment, health, education, governance, and technological change in Indonesia. Its mission is to advance integrative, evidence-based scholarship that supports sustainable development and enhances societal well-being in Indonesia.

Scope of the Journal

The journal welcomes original research articles, review papers, and scholarly works related to Indonesia, particularly those that engage with social, cultural, community-based, and human-centered dimensions across the following areas:

1. Social and Cultural Studies

  • Anthropology, sociology, religion, identity, and cultural transformation.
  • Local wisdom, indigenous knowledge, and everyday community practices.

2. Public Health and Community Well-being

  • Community health, epidemiology, health behavior, and nutrition.
  • Traditional health practices and public health policy in Indonesia.

3. Environment, Ecology, and Human–Nature Relations

  • Biodiversity, conservation, environmental change, and sustainability.
  • Local ecological knowledge, climate adaptation, and resource management.

4. Development, Governance, and Local Economies

  • Urban/rural development, governance, social policy, and local institutions.
  • Community empowerment and local economic systems.

5. Education, Learning, and Human Development

  • Pedagogy, literacy, classroom culture, and educational innovation.
  • Indigenous education and youth development.

6. Technology, Society, and Applied Sciences

  • Digital transformation, digital cultures, and technology adoption.
  • Applied science with social, cultural, or environmental impacts in Indonesia.

7. Interdisciplinary and Cross-sector Approaches

  • Sustainability and SDGs, disaster resilience, and social innovation.
  • Community-led initiatives and contemporary socio-environmental issues.

Author Guidelines

1. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original and not under review or published elsewhere.
  • Submissions must be relevant to Indonesia and grounded in scholarly analysis.
  • Manuscripts must follow ethical research standards and include necessary approvals.
  • Similarity must be below 20% (Turnitin or equivalent tools).

2. Manuscript Length

  • Research Articles: 4,000–8,000 words
  • Review Articles: 5,000–10,000 words
  • Short Communications: 1,500–3,000 words
  • Community Reports: 2,000–5,000 words

3. Manuscript Format

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)
  • Font: 12 pt, Times New Roman
  • Spacing: 1.5 lines
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Language: English or Indonesian (preferably English for broader readership)

4. Article Structure

Articles should follow the structure below unless the nature of the work requires otherwise:

  • Title
  • Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
  • Abstract (150–250 words)
  • Keywords (3–6 terms)
  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results and Discussion (or combined)
  • Conclusion
  • Acknowledgments (optional)
  • References

5. Citation and Referencing Style

The journal uses the APA 7th edition referencing style. Examples:

Journal Article:
Author, A. A. (Year). Title of article. Journal Name, volume(issue), pages. https://doi.org/xxxx

Book:
Author, B. B. (Year). Title of the book. Publisher.

Book Chapter:

6. Ethics and Consent

  • Research involving humans, communities, or indigenous groups must include ethical approval.
  • Authors must state if informed consent was obtained.
  • Any sensitive data must be anonymized.

7. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process. At least two reviewers evaluate each manuscript. Editorial decisions include: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.

8. Submission Process

  • Submissions must be made through the OJS online system.
  • Authors must ensure metadata is accurate: title, abstract, affiliation, ORCID, references.

9. Article Template
